Back to the Archives
I have been looking through the gigs and gigs of photos I have in my archive… I stumbled on these photos which I never posted. Makes up for the fact I never made it out anywhere to photograph this weekend
(Finally can catch up). I can’t wait till I get my car serviced and put some new tyres on it. Then I can really head out west to the country side.

Sunrise Sunset Times for PDA
I did a search this morning for a sunrise and sunset application for my PDA. I found two applications that I am happy with:
Sun’n'Moon:
A basic but extremely effective application that sits in your today screen and shows the sunrise and sunset times for the Sun and of the Moon. I like this so much because I can quickly glance at my PDA and see the times. For anyone wanting to set it up for Brisbane as well here are the location settings:
Latitude: 27 deg 30 min South
Longitude: 153 deg 0 min East
Ephemeris:
This application goes into more detail about the sunset and sunrise specifics. While I don’t really understand all the details presented yet, I am sure they are handy to have. It took me a while to figure out how to set-up as it requires a magnetic declination, nothing a couple of google searches can’t help with. In the application you can look into the past and the future for sunrise and sunset times. For anyone wanting to set it up for Brisbane as well here are the location settings:
Latitude: -27.50
Longitude: -153.02
Magnetic Declination: 11.12
Time Zone: -10.00
I will certainly be running both applications and referring to them while out taking sunset photos.
Recommended Links:
If you don’t have a PDA I recommend the following website
timeanddate.com - Includes a wealth of information related to a searched location. Even now that I have the PDA software I still will be checking this website. It has three pieces of information that I like to know, they are the Civil Twilight, Nautical Twilight, and Astronomical Twilight. (If you know what these twilights are you can get them from Ephemeris, it is just not as accurate)
Updated Flickr
I have updated my flickr account. It includes pretty much all my photos. I hope everyone enjoys it. I am always open to comment so please post. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chadsolomon/

Yes Still Updating
Yes I am still updating! It takes time you know to make a wordpress theme! Please check out Simon’s and Helen’s blog! While I finish my blog ![]()
Updating
I have begun work on the theme upgrade for my blog, fingers crossed I’ll have it up by the end of the weekend. I need to get some content back as google is dropping me down the list.
Canon 50mm f1.4
I ordered a Canon 50mm f1.4 for the course but due some reason with Australia Post it didn’t arrive before Friday.
I have it now and its a great little lens.

Advanced Certificate in Lighting
I now have an Advanced Certificate in Lighting. Woohoo, it was awesome, got some great information and tips. I had the honour of using a Canon 1Ds Mark II and a Canon 70-200 f2.8. I want one now, no idea how I can come up with the money though. Think I will stick to my original goal of getting a Canon 5D before Indy 2007.
Again I don’t think I will post the photos. In time they might creep into my portfolio.
Start Again
It was too hard to fix my blog. So I am just going to start again.
Check out my gallery here while I fix things….
