Nee Festival
I attended my first Nee Festival this Queen’s birthday long weekend. I haven’t been camping in ages, I had forgotten how great it is just to relax in the great outdoors. I was a little worried it was going to be extremely cold, judging from the weather Brisbane had on Friday. While it was definitely cold, it was however bearable.
Day1 (Saturday):
After dicking around packing the car on Saturday morning I didn’t arrive till around Lunch time. I had no trouble finding the place thanks to good’ol Google Maps. I got acquainted with everybody and settled in with a beer around the camp fire.

Ricky, Shaun and myself later that night set up the star trail.

Day 2 (Sunday):
As you would expect it took a few hours get started. Ricky and I decided to head over the fence and up the hill to explore. It was almost midday, and I wasn’t quiet happy with the intense light, So I didn’t get any photos I liked.
Upon arriving back at the camp I met Rob, a few minutes later Ricky, Rob, Adam and myself headed out on an exploration down to the lower side of the camp ground. We crossed the river and through some bush to emerge at a cattle thing (I don’t know what they call them)

We continued exploring… and found many things.

Eventually we all got tired and headed back to camp and settled around the camp fire. I attempted another star trail that night, but forgot about the focus.
Day 3 (Monday):
I woke up early something I very rarely do, grabbed the camera gear and headed up the hill near by. It was an amazing view, it was still twilight by the time I got to the top. I took some time to take it all in. I had to remove my UV filter as it kept fogging up.

After a while I headed back to camp, however no body was awake, still eager to take photos I went back to the cattle thing…

I headed back to camp exhausted, were we all pitched in to pack up. We all drove to the camp facilities before we headed off, I heard a strange noise to find that I had a flat tyre
Ed and the guys helped change to my spare.
We made one last stop for lunch at Beaudesert before I parted ways with the group bound for New Farm. I really enjoyed the trip apart from the flat tyre. I eagerly wait for the next Nee Festival.
Star Trail

This photo was taken at ‘Nee Festival’. Big thanks goes out to Ricky for helping with this one. For those interested the shutter speed was 3215 seconds (53min), and it used up a full battery. My second attempt the night after wasn’t so good I didn’t set the focus correctly
