Canon 5D

I’m now the proud owner of a Canon 5D. OMG full frame sensor! awesome. The fish eye lens on the 5D is insanely cool, you can expect a great deal of shots from me with this lens.

I still don’t have any shots worth posting… YET :D

Tonight I stopped at my usual location… for a Friday night sessions at Kangaroo Point, I walked from my car down some crazy steep stairs to the river, by the time I got the camera out, added a lens and set-up the tripod it started to piss down with rain. :( So I packed up, waited under some shelter for the rain to completely stop but ended up deciding to go. I’m now planning for somewhere to go for tomorrows sunrise :D

Colour Profiles

Ok! Colour profiles are driving me up the wall.

You’ll probably notice a lot of my photos are quiet dull? This is because in my hast and inexperience I have been using Adobe1998 colour profile, now this is a great colour profile. However from what I read it is just easier to stay with sRGB.

The main points for me are

Check out these links that explain it quiet well in more detail.

I am going to change my camera back to sRGB, as well as Photoshop and Bridge. I also might go back and repost some of the dull photos.

Canon 5D

Wahoo!

Placed my order for a Canon 5D, I’m so excited. I now have to go like the wind to finish all these projects before I go on holiday in 3 weeks. I am thinking of heading down to Tasmania, should be great if I can get there, just have to see how I am travelling with time and cash. Otherwise I am thinking maybe flying to Melbourne or Adelaide hiring a car and driving around along the beach. Or there is the 3rd option of going north to an island… I dunno, I really need to plan more.

At the same time I also need to prepare for photographing Adam and Nee’s wedding. Which I am also totally excited about doing, yet at the same time extremely nervous. My biggest concern is the missing 40-70mm range in my camera bag.
