Not much of a Sunrise

A long busy week saw me crash out hard around 8pm. I had not planned to go out as the forecast was rain and more rain, but “early to bed early to rise”. Wide awake at 4am I decided why not. I opted for somewhere out by the bay so I could catch up with my poppa once done. I decided on Wellington Point as I am still eager to capture a great shot from this area.

As per the weather forecast it was raining, quiet heavily. If I was going to stand any chance I needed an umbrella (ella ella). I made a pit stop at a petrol station, to my surprise they actually sold them. By the time I got there the rain was only intermittent, and it certainly wasn’t going to be anything spectacular…

It was very windy, I tried my luck with my new Vari-ND to have the clouds and waves streaking off to the corners of the photo. Err that didn’t work, a little too ambitious I think seeing as this is the first time I have used it. (OH! btw I ordered some new filters from Singh-ray they were a Vari-ND, Gold-n-Blue Polariser and 4stop Reverse Neutral Density filters. I never got a chance to blog about that.)

Now the Gold-N-Blue polariser this was fun…

Pretty cool filter, should be great camping next weekend. And now some creative expression :)

I will be posting some more info about these filters in the coming weeks.

On the way back I stopped off at Poppas. I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera and photographing some of the rain drops around in the garden. This first one is great you can see the reflection of a flower.
